From finding fruit to making it ourselves.
I grew up surrounded by fruit and vegetables. As a child, I joined my father on trips for the family business, now known as Josa Delivery. That curiosity about fruit and the right varieties has stayed with me.
When a hospitality customer asked for dried orange slices, I could not find what I was looking for. I wanted carefully prepared slices, with flavour and aroma, in packaging that kept them intact. After a year of experimenting with fruits, drying times and temperatures, FruCare was ready for its first drinks.

Giving fruit time.
A fruit slice should do more than look good. That is why we dry slowly at low temperatures. We take our time with the fruit, keeping flavour, aroma and a careful finish at the heart of the process.
Our own dried fruit slices are cut, dried and packed in Belgium. They come in sturdy, resealable packaging, ready for your next cocktail, mocktail or hot drink.

Growing together.
As more hospitality businesses discovered the slices, the work grew too. My brother was already helping with great patience and precision. That made working with social enterprise WEBO feel like a natural next step.
At WEBO on the Mechelse Veiling site, production, packing and shipping come together. People who face barriers to the mainstream labour market play an important part in the FruCare story. Their care shows in every jar.
